In Febrary 2017, I gave a presentation about General Leslie's retreat from Salem, MA on the eve of the American Revolution. It was part of the Custom House Maritime Museum's First Friday series.
In Fall 2016, I was involved in a exhibit refresh at the Custom House Maritime Museum that focused one of their galleries around William Nichols Jr., who was a local of the museums's area, served in the war of 1812 as a privateer, and retired to be the Newburyport Collector of Customs for the United States Government. The effort was a collaboration many years in the making with Nichols's family and I was fortunate enough to play a major role in the design and implementation of the new exhibit.
In Spring 2017, a exhibit I helped catalog, research, and create went on display. Called Shake, Rattle, & Roll it focused on historic toys that moved.
I ran an internship program on and off for three years where I managed both high school and college aged interns, ran outreach for the program, and handled all the programs requirements and helped the students manage any requirements for their schools or programs. I also served as a curatorial and collections intern and volunteer where I helped install exhibits and catalog objects.
In Summer 2017, a mini exhibit I put together of unique piggy banks was displayed at the Wenham Museum. The display consisted of 17 banks, all different in shapes. They included American icons, such as the Liberty Bell, Statue of Liberty, Lady Columbia, and a USPS mailbox. There were also several banks modeled after icons of 1900s industry, like a Zeppelin, ticker tape machine, and the Woolworth Building. There were also some mechanical banks, like a cash drawer, Space Race Rocket, or a Slot Machine.
In Spring 2015, I studied abroad in Budapest, Hungary at Corvinus University of Budapest under CIEE. The program I was in gave me a chance to work at the Hungarian National Gallery. This museum has one of the most extensive collections of Hungarian Art. It is also located in the building that served as the royal palace in Budapest for many centuries. During my internship, I became the only English Speaking tour guide and gave tours two to three times a week to the public.
